The membership of the Great Plains Woodturners Club is made up of people with a very wide range of skills and talent. We have members with a wide variety of skill levels from those that don’t own a lathe and are just in the beginning phase of becoming a wood turner to members that are at a master skill level. One of the major goals of our club is to provide an opportunity for our members to learn from those that have more experience. Part of our educational process is the program at each of our monthly meetings. A member of the club presents a program or demonstration on a particular topic of interest.

In further support of this goal, we have instituted a program of mentoring. Mentoring sessions will be free of charge to members and no fee shall be paid to those members who have agreed to provide mentoring. Mentoring sessions should be completed in one day or less and the length of the session will be determined by the mentor. This program is not intended to provide in-depth training classes but to encourage skills transfer between club members.

To receive training through our mentoring program you must be a member of the Great Plains Woodturners Club. If you are not a member and wish to become a member you can complete the membership request form below and you will be contacted.

If you are a member and would like to request mentoring, click on the mentoring request form tab and complete the form. Please be detailed about what you would like to learn so that we can match you up with the proper person.
