The meeting was opened promptly at 7PM by Ray Hoover

We had three visitors tonight, Bill Sam Paulson and Bryan.  Cindy gave the secretaries report and Theo reported that we have a balance of $3239.70 in the club account.  Membership dues are due so if you have not already paid please see Theo and pay your $25.00 membership  fee.

Sam gave his media report and noted the addition of Fine Woodworking Magazine.  If you have checked out an item from the library please return it at the next meeting.  If you fail to do so a note will be attached to your name tag to remind you.

The nominating committee consisting the past 5 presidents met and presented a list of  candidates for office.  The floor was opened to additional nominations.  There were no additional nominations and a motion was made to elect the list of candidates.  The motion was seconded and a vote was taken.  The officers elected were as follows.  President Rob Otte, Vice President  Nick Alberg ,  Secretary Doug Wilson and Treasures Theo Alles.  Sam Boon will also remain as Librarian.  With the impending move of Cindy Boehrns the following people have agreed to share the duties of Web Maintenance.  Doug Wilson, Sam Boon and Don Shelton.

Following the break we had a very active brain storming session for new programs for the following year.  Some of the suggestions were

Lidded Boxes, Turning a Sphere or  an egg, Turning a goblet with a captive ring, Surface embellishments, Thin stemmed goblets and fineals, Off center turning, Christmas ornaments and Hollowing, Spray finishing, Form and Esthetics, Grain orientation and the effect on your turning, Gluing techniques, Texturing, End grain turning, Marketing your work and turning other items such as alabaster and soap stone.

Please look over these ideas and volunteer to lead or participate in a group to present a program.  Remember this is your club and it will be only as good as you are willing to make it.  Everyone has something to share and something to learn from others no matter how long you have been turning.

It has been a true pleasure serving as your secretary.  I have learned so much from you all and made so many good friends.  I will miss you all when I move to North Carolina.  Hopefully we will have the opportunity to see each other at special events.
