Woodturners Touching Lives
Our club has teamed up with The Nebraska Medical Center to provide lidded boxes for children with terminal illnesses. 7 years ago, UNMC established program called, My Journey Beads. As children go through various treatments and procedures they are awarded beads, each with a special meaning depicting the journey they are living. The boxes will provide a save haven for them to store their beads.
The January meeting features Steve Mawson; he will be demonstrating the techniques used to make a basket bowl. Lots of intricate details and patience go into creating his pieces. Stop in and see what it's all about. Visitors are always welcome whether or not you are a woodturner.
Thanks again to Rob Otte for hosting our club's Christmas gathering. It's always fun to have family and friends see the work of other members while enjoying some goodies.
